Black Men's Wellness Day isn’t just an event – it's a movement. It's about understanding the health disparities that exist, taking actionable steps towards better health, and celebrating the strength and resilience of our community. Whether you've been a part of our journey from the start or are just getting to know us, this day is for you.

What to Expect:

Free Health Screenings: Prioritize your health. From blood pressure checks to more comprehensive screenings, our team of healthcare professionals are here to make sure that this is the most fun that you will ever have at a doctor's appointment.

Kids Zone: A day for the entire family! There's something for everyone at the walk! Let your little ones engage in fun, interactive, and educational activities centered around health and wellness.

Senior Pavilion: It's critical to the mission of Black Men's Wellness Day to promote wellness for the entire Black community. That's why we have a special pavilion with activities just for our Golden citizens.

Entertainment: Celebrate with us! From live music to performances, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Come, be a part of a day filled with knowledge, celebration, and unity. Let's champion the cause of health equity and ensure a brighter, healthier future for all!

CCS Back to School Event

One of the largest back-to-school events in the City of Columbus is BACK!

The 2026 Columbus City Schools Back-to-School Resource Fair will be Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Fort Hayes Campus!

FREE backpacks, books, and school supplies. Over 100 CCS departments and community partners will be available to assist with back to school resources including health screenings, home safety, after school programs and social service information.

  • FREE Parking with shuttle bus to the event at Columbus State Community College (250 Cleveland Avenue). 

  • FREE Shuttle: Pick-up at Mitchell Hall at Columbus State - runs directly to the fair! 

  • HEADS UP: Jack Gibbs Blvd. will be closed between I-670 Westbound entrance and Cleveland Ave. from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. on August 15. Detour signs will be in place.

  • TIPS: Plan ahead, arrive early, and get ready for an amazing day! The fair opens at 10 a.m. and families can enjoy pre-event activities on Jack Gibbs Blvd. before the doors open.

Ride COTA CMAX to the Back to School Fair

Does your child need a school-required vaccine, physical or checkup? 

The Nationwide Children's Hospital School-Based Health Center will be open to all CCS students and their siblings during the back-to-school fair. To schedule an appointment, call 614-355-2590, option 3. Walk-ins may be available.

Join us in person to share stories and support each other through the NICU journey and beyond!

NICU Support Group

Looking for a friendly space to connect with other families during the NICU journey and beyond? Join Wright’s Way Foundation for our in-person NICU Support Group a casual, welcoming gathering for NICU families, postpartum parents, and caregivers.

This is a space to share stories, swap tips, ask questions, and receive support from people who truly get it. Families will also be able to recieve NICU care packages, postpartum meals for at-home support, and community resources that may be helpful during and after the NICU experience.

We’ll have light bites, refreshments, and activities for kids so families can feel comfortable coming as they are.

Whether your baby is currently in the NICU, recently came home, or you’re reflecting back on your journey, this group is here to help you feel seen, supported, and uplifted.

Come connect, breathe, and be in community with other families who understand.

Expungement Record Sealing

Expungement Record Sealing

Pre-registration is now open for the state’s largest record sealing/expunging clinic offering a second chance for those who have had a criminal conviction and now seek housing, employment, and other opportunities. The clinic will be held on Saturday, August 29th on the West Side.  Criminal convictions are often the biggest barriers to restoration to society after criminal penalties have been served.

Pre-registration is open until 4 p.m. on August 14, though a limited number of walk-ins will be accepted on the day of the clinic.

Clinic Date and Time: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026
Location: Westgate Community Center, 455 Westgate Ave., Columbus, OH
Parking/Bus route: Free parking is available onsite, and the location is a short walk from COTA’s No. 10 bus line.

On-site services that day will include:

  • Free assistance from volunteer attorneys, Franklin County Municipal Court and Common Pleas Judges, Municipal and Common Pleas Clerks' Offices, and others.

  • A station where people may apply for a fee waiver.

  • Language assistance for non-English speakers.

  • Several social service agencies will be available at the resource fair.

This is one of two clinics offered each year by the Franklin County Municipal Court, the court’s Self Help Center, Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio, Justice Bus, and other agencies. Those who cannot attend the clinic can seek help from the Municipal Court's Self Help Center year-round. The center is open on weekdays 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. and is located on the 16th floor of the 375 S. High St. Courthouse.
