Policy & Advocacy
Creating a community where more babies reach their first birthday takes all of us. This page is your resource for learning how to make your voice heard and advocate for policies that support families in Columbus and across Ohio.
Start by exploring our Policy & Advocacy Toolkit, which includes information about the Ohio legislative process, what advocacy looks like in practice, how to share testimony, who to contact about issues you care about, and ready-to-use templates to help you get started.
Whether you're new to advocacy or looking to deepen your involvement, these resources can help you take the next step. Check back soon as we continue to add new tools, resources, and opportunities to get involved.
Join Us for Infant Vitality Advocacy Day
Join advocates from across Ohio for Infant Vitality Advocacy Day on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the Ohio Statehouse.
Hosted by First Year Cleveland, CelebrateOne, Cradle Cincinnati, and the Ohio Collaborative to Prevent Infant Mortality (OCPIM), this event brings together families, healthcare providers, community organizations, researchers, students, and policymakers who are committed to improving outcomes for babies and families.
Throughout the day, participants will connect with fellow advocates, learn about key infant and maternal health priorities, and meet with legislators to share why these issues matter. This year's advocacy priorities include paid family leave, housing supports for pregnant Ohioans, and timely access to maternal and infant health data. Together, we can help create the conditions every baby needs to reach their first birthday.
Register today and add your voice to the movement for healthier babies, stronger families, and thriving communities.
